Wire snowflake
This was an idea I had in my head before Christmas but never actually got round to because I'd tidied up all my boxes of yarn onto the top of my wardrobe (to make room for the Christmas tree) and just couldn't be bothered to get them down and look for the wire!
It's Mary Jane Protus's snowflake pattern crocheted with a 3.5mm hook and some jewellery wire. I think it came out quite well, but would be even better if beaded. Something to think about for next Christmas.
It came out very nice. Your idea to add beads would really add some zing. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty amazing! I had no idea you could crochet with wire!
ReplyDeleteMmm what else can we crochet with? great idea! jennyx

ReplyDeleteReally beautiful, I love the idea of crochet with different mediums xox
ReplyDeleteGoregous - I had a similar idea (but with flowers) a couple of months ago. However I tried it with garden wire (ouchie!) needless to say it didn't go well!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great even without the beads but adding some will make it wonderful. How do you find the wire on your hands when working with it as it's not something I have used but after seeing yours am now very interested in having a go? Maybe some wire bowls would be nice (or would jewellry wire perhaps not be quite sturdy enough?)
ReplyDeleteWow this is amazing! It's so delicate!
ReplyDeleteI love this. Can you tell us what guage wire you used?
