I thought you might like to see some pictures from it.
A fabulous chevron striped handbag...
I'm wondering if any of #1's dolls need a cape...
A shopping bag (I love the styling on this photograph)...
You could be the perfect hostess with these glass covers, coasters and an apron...
And a beaded evening bag just big enough to carry your opera glasses...
Isn't it fabulous?

Think you're going to have fun making some of these in a more contemporary colour scheme - the doll's dress is very short you can tell she's not wearing a petticoat ;o)
ReplyDeleteNever mind the dolls, I think I could go for one of those capes!! Super Mum to the rescue! Fabulous.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely find ... the handbag is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteOoo what a find!
ReplyDeleteI am constantly trawling the charity shops looking for little gems like this, but to no avail!
Well done. What will you make, I wonder?!!

I think I might have something similar in my garage. I found some 1974 Phildar pattern books there last week.
ReplyDeleteHandbag is gorgeous, don't you think the woman in the third picture looks like Carol Vorderman?
ReplyDeleteOooooh yes Darling! Fabulous! I do love that there pinny.

I love that purse. Great find. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes those books are hilarious, yet other times they have great patterns just not in good colours. It makes you wonder what they will think about our crochet in the future. Will they recoil in horror at it and have a good laugh? I rather like the little bag at the end and the little doilies too.
ReplyDeleteTerrific vintage crochet items. I especially love the Chevron!
ReplyDeleteEvery doll needs a cape, but it has to be accompanied by the matching hat! The coasters are really quite pretty though. Well found!
ReplyDeleteevery doll needs a cape!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the chevron hand bag. I love looking at vintage patterns. Some are so classy and others make you wonder what in the world the creator was thinking. Makes me wonder what future generations will think of our creations.
ReplyDeleteI love the chevron striped handbag.

ReplyDeleteWow, how brilliant! I picked up a crochet book from 1968 last week from our bric-a-brac market - that was the year I learned to crochet!! (I was 8 at the time...)
ReplyDeleteWill blog about it soon.
