Christmas is coming...

And we've got lovely new baubles that look like Quality Street...

my seasonal Lebkuchen addiction has well and truly kicked in. Chocolate coated or iced; with or without jam inside - I don't care, I'll eat 'em anyway. You don't even want to know how many packets have already been consumed...

three miniature Christmas cakes have been made, marzipanned and iced ready to give to the in-laws...

some festive Winterberry holly has been purchased...

and the front door decoration has been made and put in place...

This week at school we had both the carol concert and the Nativity play. What is it about little children singing that makes grown women want to cry?

Yesterday we had the excitement of several snow showers (it didn't settle), school finishing early and watching 'Elf' when we got home. Today the Christmas tree has been delivered and it smells divine.

Christmas is coming and I'm starting to get a little bit excited.

  4. You've just reminded me about lebkuchen, oh dear there goes more waist line, we love them in our house too and they are so associated with Christmas. I love your snowflake cookie cutter, one of the best ones I have seen. You really are the snowflake queen Victoria :0)

There is nothing more special than seeing our little ones in nativity plays and carol concerts, makes my heart bulge and tears are an absolute xox Enjoy the rest of this festive weekend.

  5. We have started on the Leibkuchen and the stollen and the mince pies and snowflake cookies. Oh dear the diet police will not be happy - I am not concerned - yet. An as for Elf - DID YOU HEAR THAT - we will watch it at least 10 times before Xmas Eve we love it.

  6. Those cakes look gorgeous! I've baked a cake and have topping it up with booze for a few weeks now, but haven't decorated it yet. I've never done it before so am a little scared!
I watched Elf the other day aswell, you've gotta love that film. Definitely one of my Christmas faves!
