I am so, so proud of myself. I absolutely love it.

My MIL came too and she made a bag using some bird print fabric from Ikea...
I think we both did a good job and I can see many more of these being made. In fact I made another the same evening using a thrifted tablecloth...
This bag is lined with some ditzy floral fabric and I included a small pocket...
I have plans to make one with a doily on, something like this...

brilliant - so nice to have a go at something new, wish I had better sewing skills! Glad you are enjoying your Kindle - I got one for my birthday in 2010 and now read more books on the kindle than paper ones - just finished reading a trilogy(not my usual cup of tea) and cannot stop raving about it to people:-

ReplyDelete(is the frame 'glued' to the fabric? Always wanted to try making them...)
How pretty, they remind me of bags and purses from when I was a child.

They are so pretty well done! I've only ever made framed purses with knitted pouches which you sew onto the frame (which is a real pain) but I must try these. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKandi x
Wow they are sweet. Will you pretty please teach us how to make these..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ! All of them...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Anna

Gosh. I am a bit head over heels with the table cloth one. It's so sweet!
ReplyDeletexxx
They are absolutely gorgeous Victoria, so neat! I have always wondered how to make these and I am always scanning for a workshop about them in my local area. I especially love the thrifted table cloth one, my kind of thing. Gorgeous! I'm looking forward to seeing your doily decorated one xox
ReplyDeleteHow neat and professional they look. I love snap frame purses, and have a couple of frames put by waiting for me to get the know-how of how to make them up. They've been there for quite a while!
ReplyDeleteWell done, best wishes Karen x
Oh my goodness...they are gorgeous! What a lovely way to spend time with your MIL! What are you going to do with them...do you sell them?? :)x

ReplyDeleteCor, clever you, those are gorgeous, what a great course to go on, and not only did you come back with a lovely purse but the knowhow to make many more.
ReplyDeleteClever you! They are really lovely and each one so individual. I had a go with some frames before Christmas and they nearly drove me round the bend! I definitely need to be taught how to do it properly.

I love these, I think the tablecloth is my favourite, the finishing is fantastic, well done. I must put this on my future-to-try list!
ReplyDeleteThese are so very beautiful. I would love to try something like this. What a treasure they would be to receive.

just seen a book recommendation from Elaine. For some reason (since I've never met her) I totally trust her judgement...)
LOVE them.
ReplyDeleteCute fabrics too.
I am also loving the idea cof a doily one!
Xx
What a great course to go on and such great results for both of you!
ReplyDeleteOh my, they really are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThey're wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! I made clutch purses for myself and bridesmaids in the same way - SO satisfying. I love the idea of using a thrifted tablecloth, I have one my Grandma gave me but it has some gravy stains on(!) so perhaps I can cut it up to make another purse or for another project. Thanks for the inspiration! hx
