This week...

I have two dismembered amigurumi to sort out...

The second side of my cushion cover to cast on...

I've two birthday parties to plan. A Lady GooGoo cake has been requested for the party this weekend. Just in case you're not in the know, Lady GooGoo is a Moshi Monster. So I have been out and bought an obscene amount of ready made fondant icing. Wish me luck with this one, as I'm not terrible artistic...

But, mostly this week, I am not doing the things I ought to be doing because I am spending all my spare time reading instead.  I've read 10 books since I got my Kindle at Christmas. I haven't read this much since before I had children.

I'm currently working my way through Stieg Larsson's 'Millennium Trilogy'. I can hardly read these books fast enough and am staying up far too late and neglecting the housework in my effort to find out what happens.

I hope you're all having a great week, whatever you're up to, and enjoying the sunshine if you're in the UK.

Hate sewing limbs together, defo the worst bit.
Feel your pain on the cake front, the requests we agree to.
Oh and housework and sleep can wait when there is a story needing to unfold!

  3. Since I am now in the knitting zone I am really excited about seeing your cushion cover. It looks right up my street. That yarn is to die for.

I need to get on with some arumigami (sp?) for my boys. They keep pestering me!

Just think of the icing as play doh. you'll be fine!

  4. I loved those books! Definitely better than dusting and washing, in my opinion. I can't wait to see your little yarn friends all put together, and am envious that you will even attempt a cake that requires fondant. I'm deathly afraid of the stuff!

  6. I am very impressed with the reading. I love to read and used to read about three books a week.... then I became a mumu and now I have the occasional reading orgy where I neglect everything for a few days and read them back to back but usually I just can't get around to it. I am still not sure if I want a kindle as I like to smell books (!?) and feel them etc. but love the portability of the kindle.

  9. Glad you love your Kindle, I have a Nook and an I-pad and love them both. Great series, I read through them so fast and like you could not put them down when I should have been sleeping. Good luck with the cake.

  11. Ha ha! I recognise those wabbits waiting to be sewed together. (totally the most tedious bit of ami making, I reckon)
Love the colour of your cushion and good luck with your Moshi monsters cake.
    Enjoy your week.

  12. Sewing is my least favorite part of crocheting and knitting! So happy that your kindle has gotten you reading. My husband and I share one and he's been reading so much more because of it. I, on the other hand, completely forget about it until I receive an email from the library letting me know my ebooks have expired. oops! I guess I'm a book girl.
