Summer - random snippets

☼ palm trees in Crete (where I ate my own body weight in baklava
and finally saw some sun) ☼

☼ Crete again - the pool at sunset ☼

☼ the most delicious dessert gooseberries ☼

☼ a lot of time has been spent out on bikes ☼

☼ more time than I care to mention has been spent in
swimming pools. I loathe swimming. ☼

☼ pancakes for breakfast on lazy mornings ☼

☼ Playmobil Lady GaGa came to play with the dragon knights

☼ baking with #1 - jammy rock buns ☼

☼ baking for me - almond and sour cherry cookies ☼

☼ #2's beanstalk. Brought home from nursery as a weedy, spindly thing,
it is now 170cm tall and the only plant we have grown this Summer.
Apart from weeds ☼

☼ August's weather - bouncing rain, mostly ☼

So, nothing much out of the ordinary in our school Summer holiday. A week in Crete, but otherwise it was the park, bikes, swimming, cinema or local museums (and we're spoilt for choice where we live) mixed in with lazy days at home.

Now, as September looms, it's time to embrace the Autumn. All the signs are there... it's dark before 9pm, the new season English apples have arrived in the shops and there are two pairs of shiny new school shoes lined up ready for next week...

I can't say that I mind Summer being over. After all, it never really started here in north-west England. Bring on the Autumn, I say. x

  1. Gosh yes, what on earth happened to summer this year. We fared a little better here in the south-east but not by much.

Roll on autumn, my favourite season :)

  3. Glad there was some sun involved! My friend asked me today what the point of a 'summer wardrobe' was. Ha! I gave up on that last year I think!
I love autumn too! Hope this one isn't too wet. x
