52 weeks of happy - 2/52

So what's been making me happy this week?

My Christmas present from Mr yrh - 3 ceramic bird tiles by Lee Page Hanson. He has a studio in Manchester Craft and Design centre, which is well worth a visit if you're ever shopping in Manchester (it's in the Northern Quarter and is handily close to Abakhan, Fred Aldous and Purl City Yarns).

My newly sanded dining room floor. We need the hall floor sanding and the varnish in this room was getting very worn in places.   Before: on the left, with the ancient horrible orange varnish. After: on the right, sanded (but not yet re-varnished). So much better already!

My sale bargain yarn - 7 different colours of Belle organic aran by Amy Butler for Rowan. My half-price 'Joy' mug made me pretty happy too.

A beautiful sunset and the promise of a rain-free day to follow

  1. Love your beautiful times from your hubby Victoria, he has a good eye for such beautiful things. Lucky you finding bargain yarn too, I must say I've been on a bit of a "yarn diet" and haven't been tempted by the sales this January...however, I might just be tempted now that I've seen your delicious colours :o)
Keep coming with your happies, they are great xox Penelope

  7. Ha ha, looks like we both enjoyed the same John Lewis bargins. Similar colours too! Love the tiles, those are gorgeous, I seem to have a thing about birds lately.
