52 weeks of happy - 7/52

Crocheting teeny tiny flowers from a pattern by Emma Lamb, when what I should be doing is crocheting more squares for the spring blanket, with which I am developing a love/hate relationship.

Playing with the cat. She's been on a diet for a while now due to bladder stones (now gone, thankfully). She still needs to lose a bit of weight despite us cutting her food down to the minimum (only 50g per day, poor thing!), So we have to encourage her to play more. Shiny curling ribbon has always been one of her favourite play things - one Christmas we used it to attach tags to presents and she chewed every one of them off. Her other favourite toy is a tape measure.

A candle in a jar. I bought it for the jar really, that the candle actually smells nice is a bonus.

A new bird tile by Lee Page Hanson at Manchester Craft and Design centre.

  1. Love the cat! I also have a very overweight ginger cat, Maddie, who has been on a diet for some time but is still getting fatter! I put it down to old age and too many easy mice!!

  7. Cute cat! Our little Zelda has had bladder stones as well, she's been on her diet for months... We think and hope it's all gone now, but she refuses to give a urine sample, so we have not been able to check... cheecky little thing!
She loves her tiny pompons; she fishes them out of a jar in the attic and plays/ throws/ chases them all the way downstairs, where she pushes them through the gap under the door of the meter cupboard. Every once in a while I need to bring all pompoms back to the jar in the attic, so little miss can have her fun all over again :)

What a lovely tile. I have a passion for old ones, I have some hanging on the wall above my cooker. See my post on Stilton and Brussel sprout soup.

  11. My cats go nuts for pipe cleaners, weird as it sounds!

I also switched them to a raw diet a while ago and would never look back. Definitely worth researching if you are having bladder issues with your cat.
