#1 was 8 last weekend. We had a crafty party where she and 9 of her friends produced these little painted animals.
Crocheting granny clusters around the edge of the Spring blanket. It takes 45 minutes to do one round. Simple, soothing crochet that I don't have to concentrate on and very few ends to sew in. Unfortunately I've run out of brown yarn and I can't decide whether I'll need 1 or 2 more balls of yarn and I don't want to pay postage twice. I don't know anywhere in Manchester that stocks Stylecraft Special dk. If anyone does know where I can buy it locally please let me know.
Spending over an hour 'sorting out' the Playmobil when I should have been doing something better like cleaning the bathroom.
Listening to old records - got to love a bit of Duran Duran.

Love your round up....sorry cant' help with the yarn problem!!

Your blanket is looking good!
ReplyDeleteIsn't anything better than cleaning the bathroom, I delay too, don't know why, it still needs cleaning in the end! ;)
Happy weekend,
Vivienne x
I have a big bag of Stylecraft Special but no brown I'm afraid. But on some more Duran Duran and forget the bathroom! I'm off to see The Alarm tomorrow to relive my teens :)
ReplyDeleteMore than happy to post some!
ReplyDeleteI see Heather is willing to help, otherwise I was going to suggest looking in Amazon or eBay. Good luck with it.
ReplyDeleteHi it's really annoying when you run out and don't need much. Do you have a Boyes store in Manchester they stock Stylecraft and I've noticed that their own brand of acrylic DK is exactly the same as Stylecraft even the colour names but it's about 20p cheaper! Hope this helps. Sue x
ReplyDeleteShucks, running out of yarn is not a good one. Masonsneedlecraft is pretty good stockist of Stylecraft and pretty cheap and their shipping doesn't take that long. Its not an immediate fix though. Love Duran Duran good for a trip down memory lane! Hannapatxxx
ReplyDeleteI love play mobile Victoria and could spend hours playing with it too! I hope you get your yarn sorted, sorry i have never been to Manchester. I am fortunate to live in my seaside town with 3 yarn shops just a 5-10 minute walk away from me....the only problem with that is that i end up buying more than I need! Look forward to seeing your finished blanket, love the colours you have chosen xox Penny
ReplyDeleteArgh it's sooo annoying when you just need one ball and postage ends up being more! My friend managed to get some Stylecraft Special DK from a shop in Didsbury, I think it's called 'Sew In Didsbury'. I know places like Abakhans don't sell it which is a shame - I'd be in there every week, so possibly a good thing actually :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck though, your blankets looking fantastic :)
