I felt a great deal of satisfaction this morning as I snipped the final ends off the granny squares in my Spring blanket.
216 squares finished.
I learned to relax about the colour placement in each square as I went along. Truly, it doesn't really matter - it's how it looks as a whole that's important. But I still think I prefer to make the squares and join them afterwards rather than joining as I go.
So now I'm crocheting the first few rounds of the border and wondering what to do for the final rounds - I'm going to have a good read of my new book before I decide.

Snap!! Me too, I can't wait to make lots of plain(ish) blankets just so that I can edge them with these beauties.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see what you decide. I like your colour choices.
Hope you had a good day.

I have that book, too - brilliant, isn't it? Like Susan, I can't wait to get blankets done just so I can try out one of the edgings!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently knitting a plain stockinette blanket, just so that I can edge it in a nice deep crochet border, like #22, but with more rounds to make it deeper.
Your Spring blanket looks amazing and I can't wait to see the border FINALE! I purchased this book a few weeks ago and it looks amazing. I can't wait to put some of those stitches into practice. Its so amazing to get to this stage with a blanket after all the hours of 'hooking' and now the sweet end is near my dear. xxx
ReplyDeleteOooh, that looks exciting. I love what I can see of the colours.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward to your grand reveal!
